Optum, part of the US healthcare giant UnitedHealth, currently supplies software used by GPs when prescribing medicines, as well as data analytics and advisory services that the NHS uses to help improve overall healthcare and health service provision. EMIS supplies data management systems to the NHS, including the electronic patient record system used by the majority of NHS GPs in the UK. The NHS is increasingly seeking digital and data-driven solutions to help improve the delivery of healthcare in the UK. I realise this is just a workaround for the real problem, which is slowness to open the first document after starting LibreOffice with Internet connected (when there is no Internet connection this problem is non-existent).The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) in the UK has provisionally cleared UnitedHealth’s proposed £1.2bn purchase of EMIS following an in-depth investigation. I’d really love to hear if others out there can confirm that this solution actually works! Then: Remove the tick from the “Load printer settings with the document” checkbox. Presently I’m running version 7.5.0.1 (on my laptop) but I have also tested this on earlier versions of LibreOffice, and on other PCs, all of which are running 64-bit Windows 10. At least it is working every time (for me), for every version of LibreOffice that I’ve tried. This got me looking for other possible solutions and I think I may have found a consistent workaround. But even this solution didn’t do the trick for me all the time. This solution was, among other things, prompted to me by ideas about changing the default printer to something that is always present, like Microsoft’s Print to PDF. But finally I think I may have found a consistent solution. It seems to me that other people also have had similar problems. This problem with LibreOffice taking forever to open the first document when Internet is available on the PC, no matter if it’s a Calc or Writer document or anything else, has been bugging me for at least a couple of years now. Has anyone had a similar experience? I am pretty much at a loss… Complete reset my profile, as described here: Why does LibrOffice starts so slow?īut all this did not help. Even with the antivirus turned off, the files opened very slowly. Whitelist Libre Office in my Ransomeware-Antivirus: Avast WEBforum - Index…Īt the beginning this even seemed to work, but after a few hours the problem started all over again. So my current LO version: version is still: 7.0.3.1 (圆4) Build ID: d7547858d014d4cf69878db179d326fc3483e082 CPU threads: 8 OS: Windows 10.0 Build 19042 UI render: Skia/Raster VCL: win Locale: de-DE (de_DE) UI: de-DE Calc: threaded
